Consumers Power Inc. (“CPI,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) respects the privacy of
employees who participate in our internal SMS notification program. This
policy explains how information associated with the program is collected,
used, and protected.
SMS Program
The Consumers Power Inc. SMS program is used exclusively for internal
communications with employees. Messages may include workplace notifications,
operational alerts, scheduling information, staffing assistance requests,
and other internal company communications.
Participation in the SMS program is voluntary and is not a condition of
employment.
Information We Collect
When an employee chooses to participate in the SMS program, we may collect
and maintain:
- The employee’s mobile phone number.
- SMS opt-in and consent information.
- The date and method of opt-in.
- SMS opt-out information.
- Messages or responses sent as part of the SMS program.
How We Use SMS Information
Information collected through the SMS program is used only as necessary to
operate and administer Consumers Power Inc.’s internal employee SMS
communications.
We may use this information to:
- Send internal workplace notifications and operational alerts.
- Communicate scheduling or staffing information.
- Send other internal employee-related notifications.
- Maintain records of SMS consent and opt-out requests.
- Operate, maintain, and support the SMS messaging service.

Consumers Power Inc. does not sell, rent, or share mobile phone numbers or SMS
consent information with third parties or affiliates for marketing or

Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with
any third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.
Service providers may process information as necessary to provide technical
services used to deliver SMS communications on behalf of Consumers Power Inc.
Such information may only be used to provide those services and may not be
used for independent marketing or promotional purposes.
Message Frequency and Carrier Charges
Message frequency varies depending on workplace and operational needs.
Message and data rates may apply according to the employee’s wireless carrier
and mobile service plan. Consumers Power Inc. is not responsible for charges
imposed by a wireless carrier.
Opting Out
Employees may withdraw their consent to receive SMS notifications at any time
by texting QUIT to 541-250-3559.
After an opt-out request is processed, the employee will no longer receive
messages through this SMS program unless they voluntarily opt in again.
Opting out of SMS notifications will not affect employment or access to other
Consumers Power Inc. services or systems.
Data Retention and Security
Consumers Power Inc. takes reasonable administrative and technical measures
to protect information associated with the SMS program.
SMS-related information is retained only as necessary to administer the
program, document consent and opt-out requests, comply with applicable
requirements, and support legitimate business operations.
Changes to This Policy
Consumers Power Inc. may update this SMS Privacy Policy periodically. Any
revisions will be posted on this page with an updated revision date.
