Meter Upgrade Project
As part of our commitment to reliable and innovative service, CPI is replacing our outdated 20-year-old smart meters with a new metering system. This modern system will deliver faster outage detection and enhanced energy management tools. These upgrades empower our members with greater control over their energy usage and ensure a more resilient and efficient electric service for members.
Benefits of New Meters
Reliability – enhanced meters will help CPI pinpoint outage locations more quickly, resulting in faster restoration. The new system will also report changes in voltage or other issues that will help us identify potential issues before they occur.
Member Service – members will enjoy more frequent updates to energy use data on SmartHub. This will allow members to better track their energy use habits and make smarter energy choices that can lead to lower energy consumption.
Engineering – enhanced meters will provide CPI with better data acquisition and analytics. This will enable CPI to improve power quality and resilience; help us to design, evaluate, measure and verify cost/energy saving programs, and allow for the integration and tracking of distributed energy resources (DER), like solar and battery storage.
Moving Forward Together
The deployment of our new metering system is a significant step toward modernizing our electric grid and ensuring long-term benefits for all members.
Members will receive an automated phone call in advance of the meter exchange.
