Operation Round Up® and Consumers Power Charitable Trust Giving

Operation Round Up®: Small Change, Big Impact

Rooted in the cooperative principle of ‘concern for community,’ Operation Round Up® was established in 1989 as a simple yet powerful way for members to support charitable organizations within their communities.

How It Works

By choosing to round up your electric bill to the nearest dollar each month, you contribute an average of just $6 per year—a small amount that, when pooled with others, makes a meaningful difference.

Since adopting the program in 1993, CPI members have helped distribute $484,000 in grants to local charitable organizations!

Getting Started

Enrolling is easy! Call CPI’s Member Services at (541) 929-3124, or sign up through your SmartHub account.

Once enrolled, CPI will round up your bill each month, and that extra change—about $0.50 on average—becomes your tax-deductible contribution. An itemized summary will appear on your December bill, and you can discontinue participation at any time by contacting Member Services.

Keeping It Local

Operation Round Up funds stay within CPI’s service territory. Grants are awarded three times a year by the CPI Charitable Trust Board, which consists of members from CPI’s nine zones. The board evaluates applications based on established funding guidelines.
